At Bambi Medical, we are dedicated to making babies lives happier from day one. Every year, an estimated 15 million babies are born preterm (before 37 completed weeks of gestation), and this number is increasing! Preterm babies are extremely vulnerable, and their health is at risk of deteriorating. It is vital to keep them warm in incubators and to monitor their vital signs like ECG and respiration. Currently, this is done through adhesive electrodes and wires. Placing and repositioning of these electrodes is painful and stressful for the child, while the wires are limiting the freedom of movement for the baby, users, and parents.
Bambi has created a technical solution to overcome these issues. Our solution brings wireless monitoring of these babies to the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). Out solution reduces stress and pain to the patients, offers easier workflow for the hospital personnel, and stimulates the parent-baby bonding by offering an easier way to the parents for performing Kangaroo Care, the skin-to-skin contact that helps all babies and their parents.
Who we are looking for
We’ve established the company as a leading developer of innovative solutions for preterm babies, and we’re looking for an electrical engineer to join our technical team and to develop new innovations for premature babies. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of (medical) development processes, along with experience in algorithms development, testing, and evaluating embedded systems. This person should be highly motivated in developing electrical designs on the basis of detailed requirements as part of our product development process.

Your responsibilities
- Gather, define, and write the detailed requirements specifications, based upon the Usability, User needs, Standards etc.
- Create electrical and software designs, on the basis of the detailed requirements, so that the design is reliable, efficient and easy to maintain.
- Define the detailed test design and test specifications.
- Develop functioning prototypes and devices (including design, documentation, testing, and rapid iteration).
- Point of communication with development partners, manufacturing partners and suppliers.
Developing functions that are part of the total device including test qualifications according to the medical standards.
Key requirements
Technical:
- Relevant experience in an R&D role in Class I/ II Medical devices environment
- Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering or electronics
- Experience in a regulated field is preferred.
- Basi knowledge of embedded software is preferred. Attitude:
- A self-driven individual with flexibility to adapt to situation and wear multiple hats on need basis.
- In general, you are entrepreneurial and have proven problem-solving skills.
- You have good communication skills.
- You like to play a pro-active part in the progression of yourself and the organization.
