THE POSITION
Odyssey is growing and so is our hotel portfolio. We are constantly looking for opportunities to acquire new hotels. This varies from taking over hotel platforms or hotels and fully rebrand them according to the Odyssey brand, or through signing leases with developers. As a Development and Asset Management Intern, together with our Analyst Feasibility and M&A, you’ll assist on acquiring new properties across Europe and contribute to the growth of an international operating hotel group.
During your Development and Asset Management Internship, you’ll be involved doing research by investigating the current hotel market and find new cities of countries that fit the Odyssey story brand. Once the research is done, you’ll work on feasibility studies to check whether these hotels are suitable to take over. When the time has come to persuade the headquarters, investors, or other stakeholders, you’ll prepare the approval memos, and you’ll attend or even lead the presentation.
Besides your Development tasks, you’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with the Asset Management team, as Odyssey holds partial real estate responsibility in some leases. In this role, you will support the asset manager daily by gathering property-related information, brainstorming operational improvements, coordinating and implementing small projects across the organization, and liaising with the engineering and maintenance teams to enhance our properties.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performing market research by investigating market characteristics of cities or countries of potential interest of Odyssey.
Assisting on feasibility studies.
Preparing approval memos, and eventually present these to the HQ, investors, and other stakeholders.
Studying hotel and brand trends for future acquisitions.
Helping with setting up the rental conditions.
Analysing data about properties.
Assisting on hotel enhancement initiatives.
Review legal documents and provide recommendations.
Prepare overviews for other departments.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
An HBO(+) or BSc/BA degree in Hotel Management or a degree in another relevant field of study.
Preferably following a master's degree in Finance or Real Estate.
Affinity with hospitality and hotels.
Fluent in English, Proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel).
