Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for luxury yacht building? For one of our prestigious clients - a leader in the Dutch yachtbuilding industry - we are looking for a skilled Project Engineer with a focus on Routing & Arrangements. In this role, you will lead a discipline-specific engineering team, take ownership of technical design and execution, and ensure optimal collaboration with various stakeholders.
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and coordination of technical systems within high-end superyachts. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading the engineering scope within your discipline (Routing & Arrangements);
- Managing quality, budget, and planning of engineering deliverables;
- Developing and reviewing 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications;
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (such as Class & Flag);
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines for integrated technical solutions;
- Acting as a technical expert and mentor for (junior/senior) engineers;
- Coordinating with external stakeholders, including the Owner’s team;
- Driving process improvements and technical innovation within the yachtbuilding process.
Functie-eisen
We are looking for someone who has:
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in ship- or yachtbuilding;
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams;
- Proficiency with 3D AutoCAD, Teamcenter, and Cadmatic;
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written;
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences;
- Knowledge of exterior engineering, moving equipment, and equipment integration;
- Understanding of cable and panel planning, onboard systems, and budgeting;
- Deep technical insight into yachtbuilding, construction, and production processes;
- An analytical mindset with a high standard for quality and results.
