Join us as a Full Stack Developer and build our Data Portal and ecosystem: the central platform where our data and AI experts manage and provision projects, data products and workspaces. You work with Python, Next.js, typescript, AWS and Databricks to create clear, compliant, reliable and user-friendly solutions that help others do their work better.
Verantwoordelijkheden
Visible work: The Data Portal is the starting point for hundreds of data and AI professionals. You make their work smoother by building and improving features in Python and Next.js, and by connecting platforms such as Databricks and Ontos. Every change you make helps our colleagues work with data faster and more easily.
Challenge: You work with a modern and varied tech stack. On the backend you use Python, SQLAlchemy and Alembic to design and migrate databases. You build and connect REST APIs with AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions and SDKs. You integrate with Databricks (Unity Catalog, APIs, workspaces) and Ontos as our data product catalog. Your challenge is to keep all these parts working together in a stable and scalable way.

Wat ga je doen
In this role, you will design and develop the Data Portal: our central web application that connects all data and AI platforms and services, forming a core part of PostNL's data ecosystem. You'll focus primarily on the backend, building scalable database structures, secure APIs, and integrating systems such as AWS services, Databricks workflows, and identity management. You'll manage database migrations using Alembic and ensure processes around projects, users, and data access run smoothly.
In addition, you'll work on the frontend with Next.js, building clear and simple interfaces. We already have a design system in place, so this is not about pixel-perfect UI work - the focus remains on backend functionality and integrations. You'll integrate systems such as Ontos, handle lifecycle notifications, and support automations for our data professionals.

You work meticulously, think logically, and enjoy making complex systems clear and scalable. You switch easily between different tech stacks and teams. You can translate architectural requirements and the needs of architects and the Platform Owner into clear, maintainable solutions. You place a high value on technical quality: you write testable code, design robust APIs, and build systems that other colleagues can confidently build upon. You combine strong full-stack skills with a platform mindset and take pride in clean database design and scalable systems.
You also recognize yourself in the following:
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- You have strong backend skills in Python, including database design and tooling such as Alembic or SQLAlchemy.
- You have experience with front-end development in Next.js or React.
- You have experience with AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, and SDK clients.
- You have experience with REST API design and system integrations and can translate this into technical implementations.

The benefits of your position are:
- Salary between €4.589 and €6.499 gross per month at 37 hours per week. But 32 hours is possible too!
- Hybrid working is encouraged and you'll have flexible working hours. After all, your work-life balance matters to us. Employees who work from home more than two days a week get an allowance of €45 net per month.
- 8% vacation pay and 25 vacation days on a full-time contract.
- Travel allowance for commuting from 6 km each way up to a maximum of 70 km each way.
