This job is a Managerial position overseeing 15fte within the Functional Finance department, reporting to the Director Finance. Functional Finance covers the areas of External Reporting, Accounting Operations, Tax, Treasury and Internal Risk & Control. Generally speaking, you will achieve the objectives through the overall team performance and the cooperation with other (non)Finance stakeholders

Accounting Operations holds responsibility for:

  • CAPEX, OPEX and Revenue accounting;
  • support on Tax and Cashflow topics;
  • analysis and reporting on Balance Sheets & P&L;
  • monthly, quarterly and yearly close;
  • in close collaboration with External Reporting support on statutory reporting & audits;
  • knowledge base on IFRS topics (IFRS 9, 15, 16);
  • close cooperation with the Shared Service Centre;
  • optimization on workflow processes.

As a Manager this means:

  • You encounter complex operational problems. You will look beyond existing procedures and own functional area to solve these problems. The decisions to use certain solutions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives;
  • you will revise as well as implement business plans in line with the relevant accounting strategy;
  • you will have full management authority in the area of accounting operations. This entails setting employee performance targets, completing performance appraisals of team members, recommending salary decisions and being involved with recruitment and termination decisions.

For this position we are looking for someone who has a customer-oriented mindset towards internal and external stakeholders. Next to that, it is important that you like, and are able, to build bridges between stakeholders with different perspectives. Furthermore, someone who is able to present complex or sensitive topics. On top of that, we would like someone who has a team player mentality.

You are a strong personality with excellent communication skills. (Fluent in English, both verbal and writing, Dutch is a preference). You connect with colleagues by having an open dialogue. Also, you are able to communicate extensively with (senior) management about business and accounting.

Next to this you need to bring:

  • Master’s degree in Economics with a postdoctoral degree in Accountancy (RA/CPA/ACCA);
  • minimum of 10 years’ experience in Accounting with considerable time in a finance management position;
  • excellent understanding of IFRS standards and accounting policies and procedures;
  • ability to work with SAP;
  • affinity with Treasury, Tax, Internal Control and Compliance;
  • experience within a fast pace and large (international) company;
  • proven track record of initiating and implementing complex accounting and business projects.
