Family owned offshore and infra company with some 6.000 employees globally, based in Rotterdam.
The roleYou will be part of the Corporate Legal team within the Legal and Contracts department and work closely with the Offshore Energy & Dredging and Infra BU’s as well as with departments such as Finance, Treasury, Compliance, Procurement and Insurance. You support corporate governance, compliance and strategic projects such as restructurings and M&A activities. You also monitor legal risks and ensure that entities worldwide remain compliant with laws and regulations. Assess, understand and judge risks as well as advise the Executive Board and the Area Managers/Area Directors on the impact and consequences of contracting internationally, in order to minimise risks and costs regarding international projects. The position has a strong international scope and offers involvement in strategic projects across the organisation. You will be based in Rotterdam.
Tasks- Support corporate structuring, governance and corporate finance matters.
- Advise internal stakeholders so legal and compliance aspects are embedded in decision making.
- Support the establishment, amendment and liquidation of legal entities worldwide.
- Support M&A projects, investments and financing transactions.
- Draft, review and negotiate corporate documentation such as shareholder agreements, powers of attorney and resolutions.
- Advise on data privacy and data protection matters.
- Draft and review data processing agreements and other privacy documentation.
- Coordinate and manage external counsel and corporate service providers.
- Proactive legal advisor who can operate independently in an international environment.
- Strong foundation in corporate law, corporate governance and compliance.
- Translates legal risks into pragmatic business solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic context.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable managing stakeholders at different levels.
- Ability to guide junior colleagues or paralegals when needed.
- Excellent command of English. Dutch is nice to have.
- Period: probably 17/08/2026 - 01/01/2027. Start as of maternity leave of the present colleague, which date is not sure yet. The end date is therefore not certain either.
- Assignment for 32 hours/week per week (no more). By exception 24 hours could be an option.
- Home working: 1 day at the start (on Wednesdays or Fridays).
- Freelance (ZZP) is not possible due to embeddedness of the role
