DevOps Engineering Lead – DevOn – Almere

We are seeking a DevOps Engineering Lead to drive end-to-end DevOps adoption, lead engineering teams, and champion cultural transformation across client environments. The ideal candidate combines deep technical excellence in cloud and automation with a people-first leadership style.

• Lead or coach engineering teams in DevOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering initiatives across cloud (Azure, AWS) and on-prem environments.
• Guide clients and teams through DevOps, Agile, and Lean transformations, focusing on automation, process improvement, and collaboration.
• Architect, design, and implement cloud-native solutions using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and modern frameworks like Serverless.
• Establish best practices in infrastructure as code, security (DevSecOps), and compliance automation for regulated industries.
• Advise, coach, and train engineers, fostering a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement within and outside DevOn.
• Drive innovation and quality in software delivery, integrating modern DevOps metrics and feedback loops (e.g., DORA metrics, shift-left quality gates).
• Mentor less experienced consultants and engineers; support recruitment and knowledge sharing via workshops and public speaking.

• Expertise in Azure, AWS, and DevOps toolchains: Azure DevOps, GitLab, Python, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, KEDA.
• Demonstrable leadership in engineering or consultancy settings—leading teams, product/platform ownership, or transformation programs.
• Strong background in CI/CD, automation, event-driven and serverless architectures, and cloud platform enablement.
• Hands-on with configuration management, scripting, and generalist programming (Python, TypeScript preferred).
• Certified in DevOps methodologies and cloud fundamentals (e.g., DevOps Leader, Azure Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Practitioner).
• Excellent soft skills: stakeholder management, team coaching, cultural change management, and client consultancy.

• Experience consulting with financial/regulatory clients and implementing compliance automation.
• Public speaking, community involvement, and/or technical training delivery.
• Passion for humanizing IT—making high-performance attainable, removing friction, and enabling true team collaboration.
