The Medtronic IT Global User Services (GUS) is looking for a Solution Architect who will help us drive the future experience for the 90.000+ employees across the globe. You will focus on solution-level decisions and analysis of their impact on the overall business goals and outcomes.
A Day in the Life
The Solution Architect is a key factor in our employee centric-driven development. You will work on a big transformation project which cover multiple products, technologies and multiple value streams. You will Define the ‘how’ within the solution and work closely with the UX team, Product owner, Development team and Architecture.
The Solution Architect functions as a liaison between the service owners and the technology teams, asking the right questions to establish the exact definition of what needs to be done for each employee journey and feature before development is started. Suggest the best solution according to the incoming requirements and existing environment. The product and deliverables of a solution architect is the set of technological solutions and the strategy of the implementation. She or he monitors the process of development and keeps stakeholders informed about the progress. Supports project activities to ensure that resources, risk recognition, and planning stay aligned with the solution goals.

Medtronic is looking for a candidate with at least 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a digital/international surrounding. Someone who demonstrated a high degree of “hands on” and ‘learning agility’ with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving skills. Have you have demonstrated experience in driving transformational outcomes in organizations and understand a persona and journey outside-in approach?
Preferably you have experience within an IT department or with employee supporting processes.
Or experienced in design thinking. The ideal candidate must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, and positive attitude and perform as a team player but also able to get to the bottom of a problem or process with a strong problem-solving and analytical skills while having a keen interest in digital trends and how they impact people and businesses.
Can you effectively collaborate in a global team of diverse individuals that are geographically dispersed through all project lifecycles? Proactively & timely inform stakeholders of potential risks, impediments, issues and roadblocks? Do you have the willingness to be flexible in the work schedule and to accommodate different time zones based on project or product team needs? Finally, willingness to travel occasionally (post Covid-19 restrictions).
