Sr. Gaming Licensing Manager

The Xbox Game Studios Services Team is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Sr. Gaming Licensing Manager to help drive strategic central projects and shared solutions for Xbox Game Studios.

We are looking for an experienced Licensing Manager to oversee gaming middleware technology and external services agreements for our first party gaming teams and supporting our mission: Provide shared solutions that enable 1P Studios to focus on creating and delivering the best games. ‚ÄčThis role demands a detailed oriented person with experience in technology licensing and procurement, working with external development and gaming technology suppliers, highly familiar with the different gaming middleware vendors and the external services ecosystem for AAA games. This role contributes to the External Technology and Suppliers (XTS) team charter to enable first party game development teams to create world-class games by proactively looking for best-in-class external game content creation services and production technology companies globally. It requires continuous and close collaboration with different internal groups, including CELA, SSPA, Privacy and Procurement teams. The Licensing Manager plays the role of trusted advisor to our studios and suppliers.

Desirable candidates will have demonstrated decision-making, problem solving and analytical skills. Game production experience or legal background in the gaming industry will be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new suppliers according to Microsoft and XTS processes.
  • Manage the terms and conditions of agreements.
  • Support XTS during agreement negotiations with suppliers by using business judgment and licensing principles.
  • Work with legal and business groups to identify and resolve agreement issues.
  • Work with suppliers to negotiate complex terms and conditions necessary to sign agreements.
  • Ensure negotiation strategies adhere to established guidelines, policies and legal standards
  • Contribute to the development of internal process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, planning and organizational abilities.
  • Must have experience managing licensing agreements for Procurement teams for large corporations.
  • Experience working with SSPA, MS Procurement, Privacy and CELA.
  • Great negotiation experience and demonstrated business maturity.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration and project management skills.
  • Experience with http://myorder, http://ContractsWeb, Adobe Sign, Excel and Power BI
  • Self-starter who not only deals well with, but thrives in ambiguity.
  • Strong team player with the ability to positively and constructively influence stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and negotiate and collaborate effectively.
  • Problem solver that can identify both short term mitigation and propose options for longer term resolution.
  • Ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels, in multiple geographies and business functions, both internally and externally.
