Product Marketing Manager

The mission of the Devices team within Windows & Search GTM is to make sure we have a focused set of the right devices, with the right features, at the right prices, at the right time to drive growth & support our marketing investments! We partner with our OEM and retail sales team, and we are looking for someone to manage the ROI of those investments as we prioritize the right investments cross partners.

We are looking for an individual that thinks outside the establishment, loves hardware, & when teams come with all of the different possible directions for Windows this person likes to size which opportunity is the greatest, why, and prioritize them…

In this role you will work cross our product, marketing, sales team to manage the efficiency of marketing investments, calculating the ROI, recommend prioritization of investments, and think of new ways to invest to drive for growth. This includes monthly and quarterly look back on investments, future planning and identifying best opportunities for our investment, and partnering with other teams on how they will invest. A strong interest in the Windows device business is necessary and you should be ready to objectively evaluate a wide portfolio of products with a data-driven approach. The ideal candidate will be able to respectfully support or challenge established preconceptions with thoughtfully researched proposals to mobilize teams toward our strategic goals for Windows devices.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize potential investment opportunities with an ROI model
  • Calculate impact and ROI Monthly / quarterly for ongoing investments
  • Define & lead research studies to identify customer needs, demand signals, & key priorities for new device categories
  • Partner with sales on new investment opportunities and new programs to drive growth
  • Work cross segment (consumer, commercial, and EDU) and assist in prioritizing cross-segment investments
  • Get executive buy off on our investment priorities, scorecard, & LRP
  • Perform competitive assessments & analyze what will be needed to win the category & create competitive boundaries
  • Determine the Key Performance Metrics & principles for investment priorities

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing products or marketing campaigns (prefer experience working at or with an OEM or IHV)
  • Strong data analysis and business impact background
  • Market analysis and experience building ROI calculations used to prioritize investments
  • Experience performing market / opportunity sizing
  • Preferred experience working with or as product planner
  • Executive presence and professional maturity
  • Experience taking recommendations and getting executive buy off
  • Clear and persuasive oral and written presentation skills for communicating compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners.
  • Experience working with partners and providing great leadership and interaction with Microsoft
  • History with marketing plans and GTM strategy (preferably with devices)
  • Able to manage ambiguity and have a results-driven mindset
  • Ability to quickly assess an opportunity┬┤s potential, leveraging fact-based analyses and industry experience.
  • Sensitivity to diverse stakeholder perspectives and the ability to facilitate internal alignment.
  • Ability to create and present business plans, competitive analysis and strategy roadmaps with a proven track record required.
  • Self-starter and can-do attitude a must
  • Prior work with OEM or Silicon partners preferred. Experience with Windows and knowledge of Windows 10 a plus.
