Job background:

As eCommerce continues its dominance as the consumer shopping destination and influence point, we want Unilever brands to be at the forefront of consumers’ consideration.

Unilever’s ambition is to Turbocharge our sales through eCommerce from 10% to 30% of Turnover by 2023. To be fit to win, we must continually adapt and develop new and tailored Supply Chain expertise across our markets.

The New Business Model team sets the global eCommerce strategy for Supply Chain.

Our team identifies opportunities in Unilever’s eCom Supply Chain around the world and comes up with new, innovative solutions to improve efficiencies, use new technologies and leverage new business models to exponentially grow Unilever’s eCommerce business.

This role is pivotal in designing and implementing new solutions required across markets to solve the challenges and opportunities around eCommerce. Our vision is simple: to be a borderless, round the clock, customer centric eCom operation.

Who you are and what you’ll do:

You are already a proven leader, with 5-10 years Supply Chain experience, you will lead the eCom agenda across a number of key transformative SC workstreams.

You have experience of working cross functionally and with numerous business partners, forging close links with Customer Development, country teams, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and our Divisional SC teams to name a few.

Part of your job will be to develop and implement solutions across markets.

This will require good stakeholder management, an ability to hold others accountable, discover and share best practices across markets, cultivate a sense of community and think outside of the box.

You will have ownership over one or more of our team’s 5 strategic pillars.

These include 1) Customer Experience, 2) eCom Fulfilment, 3) Profitable Growth, 5) Performance Management and 5) People & Organization.

Within these 5 pillars there is room for you to own and drive the agenda with a degree of autonomy, so creative leadership is important as well as data-driven decision making and delivering tangible results in the markets.

As a change maker, your primary role is to drive our Supply Chain forward to help deliver our business targets in a sustainable way. You will have proven experience in creating and driving capabilities, thought leadership, community building, and best practice sharing.

Your work could involve leading a number of key projects across our strategic workstreams; Customer Experience, eCom Fulfilment, Joint Profitable Growth, Performance Management and People & Organisation in our focus markets across the globe.

Along with our partners, specific deliverables we are working on include creating new forecasting tools with our Pureplay eCom customers, accelerating the rate of change we need to make on our Portfolio and Packaging to become eCom ready, enhancing our global eCom skills/mindset and re-designing our logistics capabilities to make us future proof.

As this is still a relatively new area, you will be continually prioritizing, adapting and evolving the role to suit the needs of the business.

What you’ll need to succeed:

We are looking for a candidate that is ambitious, you will have the built in drive to propel us forward to achieve our global Turnover ambition, key skills and experience will ideally include:

  • 5-10 years of Supply Chain experience

  • Strong project management skills, you will need to be comfortable in learning/understanding our current Supply Chain as well as designing and leading what it needs to be

  • Experienced in managing and driving success through virtual teams

  • A great influencer, with the ability to work closely with a spectrum of people, from day to day contacts to the Heads of Supply Chain teams and our partners

  • A team player, with strong business partnering experience

  • Experience of leading and developing customer relationships at all levels (ideally including eCom customers)

  • Curiosity - being comfortable to explore white spaces and establish new ways of working vs adhering to existing ones

  • Ability to embrace change – whilst also being able to deal with ambiguity

  • A passion for winning, you will be a hard worker, but you’ll always make time to celebrate personal and team success and have fun along the way

  • Understanding of the eCommerce world or eCommerce platforms
