HR Risk Transformation Professional

The risk consultant worksin close collaboration with the global head HR strategy & transformation. HR strategy & transformation is part of the Global Human Resources team and focusses its activities on effectively running the change portfolio of Global Human Resources and on developing & implementing initiatives on transformation within the People Strategy of the Bank. To go into further detail, the HR strategy and transformation team is responsible for the definition of Global Human Resources priorities and to lead the transformation of HR risk practices, operating model activation and building the capabilities of Global Human Resources. Our People Strategy will support the development of our employees and ING’s Performance culture, aimed to improve the individual performance and professional development of all ING’s 54.000 employees. Specifically, considering HR context, we have recently launched HR unite, i.e. a complex and multi-year programme to implement a new operating model (based on HRBPS, Communities of Expertise and People Services structure).

Key responsibilities

The risk consultant will be mainly involved in supporting the global head HR strategy & transformation in driving the risk transformation agenda, working closely with a team of colleagues in effectively strengthening HR risk practices and implementing the HR operating model. The risk transformation professional will be directly involved in the following transformation areas (example):

  • Develop and roll out of Pre Employment Screening policy across the Group (e.g. waiver process, policy translation in to IT processes, etc)
  • Develop and roll out of Suitability Policy across the Group (e.g. capability building, policy review, etc)
  • Deep dive on and analyse current activities within (local and global) HR scope, more particular within People Services domain (e.g. local risk management practices), also to ensure proper translation of HR policies into HR processes
  • Ensure compliant and consistent processes are in place in all local HR departments (e.g. pre-employment screening and suitability processes)
  • Set-up functional reporting lines between local and global HR experts to enable effective monitoring of local practices
  • Drive one standardised way of working across HR to ensure compliance to global standards (e.g. Business Control Office for Non financial risk approach within HR)
  • Optimise delivery of HR value to the business, e.g. by assuring that global policies are implemented effectively within the HR domain

The role offers a unique opportunity to develop a broader view about key People Strategy priorities and implementation of an ambitious HR Transformation programme, while being actively involved in the effective shaping of the new HR risk practice and operating model.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the implementation of the top HR priority for ING, and will ensure full and continuous interaction with senior management at HR and Business level.

The role will require a strong independency, clear delivery, make-it-happen mindset.

  • Speak and write English fluently
  • Have good knowledge on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven experience in communicating and dealing with senior management
