Instructional Developer- Body Repair

Tesla is seeking an incredibly talented Instructional Developer to join the Body Repair Program. This position involves supporting the Body Repair Program in all aspects of its internal and approved body shop programs. This job is for someone who has a passion for technology and a drive to push their own capabilities while interacting with equally enthusiastic creative team members.

  • Identify learning objectives, assess learners, performance outcomes, and evaluative strategies to deliver instruction including consulting with program owners and subject matter experts to identify performance gaps and learning objectives
  • Develop online and instructor-led course content for the Tesla Approved Body Shop network and internal Tesla body shops such as welding, bonding and riveting technology, and structural repair
  • Develop instructor manuals, participant guides, quick-reference guides, activities, and job aides to support all training delivery
  • Work with subject matter experts during the course development process
  • Ensure programs and processes are developed, assessed, communicated, and administered in compliance with Tesla and Body Repair’s objectives standards
  • Perform summative and formative evaluations to identify effectiveness of all training's and training programs
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet project deadlines
  • Collaborate with team members on the development and implementation of instructional design standards
  • Maintain and update Tesla learning management system
  • 3-5 years of instructional design and project management experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, and high-output environment
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing training materials and content including creating instructor-led (ILT) materials and online training content
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and methodologies such as ADDIE or SAM
  • Comfort with ambiguity and welcome the challenge of working in a fast pace environment
  • Able to manage workflow with minimal oversight, multiple stakeholders, and changing priorities
  • Professional demeanor, strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Understanding of Excel scripting a plus
  • Experience with learning management systems and virtual training environments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to work within strict guidelines, standards, and deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following tools: Articulate Storyline, Lectora, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and related SCORM
  • High level of proficiency in both written and spoken English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
