Offshore company operating 10 self-elevating units that serve the energy sector, in both oil/gas and in renewables. 7 units are operational in the Middle East and 3 in the European area (Baltic sea, Irish sea and Northsea). The home base in IJmuiden operates the units in the European sector and houses a team of 12 colleagues.
There are further onshore bases in Qatar and in Dubai with some 30 personnel.
Each unit has some 30 personnel on board.
IJmuiden officeThe IJmuiden office is led by the Operations manager. Into him report:
- Rig manager (one for each offshore unit)
- Purchasing manager
- Maintenance manager
- Safety manager
- HR manager
- Finance manager
You are the Purchasing manager’s sole colleague. About all tasks are shared between you two. Together you make sure that the offshore units are timely served with all required goods and services. Only the supply of food is fully outsourced to a 3rd party.
The goods provided to the units vary from household products to safety equipment, spare parts, fuel, office supplies, medicines, etc. In total a spend of appr. € 3,5 mio.
There are a few contracts in place on the basis of which goods and/or services are purchased via the ERP system. The Purchasing manager is responsible for negotiating these contracts. Mostly there are (discount)deals with suppliers that offer online commerce such as Eriks, TU, Manutan, etc.
You are responsible for
- Issuing RfQ’s, evaluating and negotiating costs, quality and delivery terms
- turning requisitions into PO’s
- communication with the offshore Material Coordinators to ensure that stock levels are maintained
- making sure that goods and services are delivered on time,
- making sure that all required documentation is delivered together with the goods purchased
- solving quality, delivery and invoice issues
- arranging exceptional transport if and when needed
- data entry into the ERP system and filing of all relevant documentation.
The ERP system used is McMain.
It is important that you follow all safety, environmental and professional standards
During the onboarding period you will get a training-on-the-job. The use of McMain will be taught to you by the maintenance manager (key-user).
You will primarily work at the Ijmuiden office but will also make offshore and on-site visits.
Your profile- Relevant MBO-4 diploma
- Good experience purchasing technical equipment and materials
- Some knowledge of transport logistics by air and sea
- Strong ability to work with IT (applications)
- Good command of English. Dutch at least at B-level
- Strong communicator
- Hands‑on and pro‑active
- Offshore or marine background is a plus
- This is a full‑time job
- Salary up to € 5.500 gross/month, depending on experience and know‑how
- 27 vacation days
- Commuting will be compensated at € 0,23/km
- Pension arrangement (at NN)
- After the onboarding period you can work 2 days/week from home
