We are looking for an Intern to join us as of August / September 2025 for a minimum of 6 months.
Principle responsibilities and position purpose:
You will be broadly trained in all aspects of a Finance department in a hotel. You will support the other team members in receiving, sending and controlling of invoices, receiving and reconciling Birchstreet, controlling and booking, petty cash and money float, checking & correcting bookings when necessary adjust sales in Operations Audit, other audit work and assist the Assistant Finance Manager in special projects.
Next to that every team member at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will be ensuring consistent quality of customer service is provided to the guests in accordance with the Waldorf Astoria True Service Standards.
Essential functions:
As a Finance Intern for the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam you will be trained for the following tasks to the highest standards with the main focus on a daily basis on:
Match the invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes
Check the amounts invoiced against the purchase orders and accuracy of the tax amounts, obtaining the relevant clarification from the Heads of Department responsible if there are deviations
Processing and control of reminders
Monitoring and control of outgoing delivery notes
Directives from internal and external audits are a component of this job description
Orderly and complete monthly and annual archiving of the vouchers from the areas
Receiving and reconciling items in Birchstreet
Controlling and booking groups, credit cards, micros slips and entertainment bills
Checking the money floats, petty cash and cash dropped
Check all the bookings of the Front Desk and F&B outlets on the basis of OnQ Operation Audit and back-up documents
Draw up the Daily Flash Report and the Daily Cash Report
Process and reply to guest correspondence and ensure consistent quality of customer service in accordance with the Waldorf Astoria True Service Standards
Check daily allowances/paid-outs for completeness and accuracy
Reply to, solve and process credit card issues & disputes
Careful and timely filing of all reports in compliance with legal and internal procedures regarding filing, registration and archive
Special projects in co-operation with the Finance Manager.
Supportive function:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position requires to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Finance Manager based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Positions directly reporting to this position:
Primarily, as a Finance Intern you will report directly to the Finance Manager. Besides that, you will communicate and report about ad hoc tasks and/or requests to the team members.
