For an internationally operating organization within a technically driven industry, we are looking for a Financial Accountant & Project Lead (m/f/x) in Alphen aan den Rijn. This organization is characterized by a complex international structure with multiple entities and a strong focus on innovation, process optimization, and digital transformation. Within The Netherlands, you will collaborate with various international teams and play a key role in both finance operations and transformation projects.
As a Financial Accountant & Project Lead, you will combine operational finance responsibilities with a leading role in international implementation and integration projects. Approximately 25% of your time will be dedicated to core finance activities, while 75% will focus on project-based work related to system implementations and process transitions.
Tasks and Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant & Project Lead
In this role as Financial Accountant & Project Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating and improving financial processes in an international environment. You will work closely with shared service centers and local teams.
Your responsibilities include:
- Participate in transferring from current Shared Services SSO to SSP and related implications at local entity level
- Coordinate accounting activities and communication between the SSP and the local organizations, acting as the main point of contact
- Monitor the performance of SSP and work as a team to improve constantly the quality of services provided
- Cooperate to allow local Finance team to ensure local fiscal regulations (also VAT), accounting standards and Group policies and internal/SOX controls
- Collaborate with the local organization and the SSP to improve processes and systems
- Participate in the ERP implementation of MS Dynamics and transferring from current ERP systems to the new unified ERP
- Support standardization, harmonization, and optimization of finance processes prior to transition
- Ensure process documentation is updated and are aligned with ERP and SSO requirements
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-transfer activities
- Closely work together with the external transient / implementation partners and the internal project management team in Italy
- Support local Finance team on internal and external audits and daily operations
Your profile
For this position in The Netherlands, we are looking for a candidate with a solid financial background and experience in international environments:
- A bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting and financial closings
- Strong knowledge of local accounting principles; familiarity with US GAAP and SOX is a plus
- Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools
- Project management experience and experience working with (remote) shared service centers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to operate in a multicultural environment
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
In addition, you are proactive, detail-oriented, results-driven, and possess strong stakeholder management skills.
