Protiviti is seeking an experienced Internal SOX Auditor (m/f/x) to support one of its clients in the implementation of a SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance framework. This role will play a key part in designing, documenting, and operationalizing SOX controls, working closely with client stakeholders and Protiviti project teams. The engagement is fully remote and initially planned for 10 weeks, with potential for extension based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of a SOX compliance framework in alignment with regulatory requirements and leading practices
- Assist in risk assessment and scoping for SOX-relevant processes and controls
- Document process flows, narratives, and control descriptions
- Identify key controls, assess control design, and support remediation planning where gaps are identified
- Collaborate with business process owners to ensure controls are practical and sustainable
- Support the development of SOX testing strategies and readiness activities
- Coordinate with Protiviti team members and client stakeholders across functions
- Provide clear documentation and status updates in both English and Spanish
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Internal Auditor or SOX Auditor, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment
- Hands-on experience with SOX framework implementation or SOX readiness projects
- Strong understanding of internal controls, ICFR, and COSO framework
- Experience documenting processes, risks, and controls
- Fluent in Spanish and English (mandatory)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote project environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working on Protiviti or Big 4-style consulting engagements
- Experience supporting multinational or Spanish-speaking organizations
- CPA, CIA, CISA, or similar certification (preferred but not required)
