What will you do?

S1AI is a center of excellence within Engineering that builds frontier Products that showcase what can be done with the latest technologies, delivers them to market through a Platform that can be reused by other engineering teams, and builds capacity in People across S1 to ideate and build using these technologies.

As a member of S1AI, you will take on at least one end-to-end project, working with one or more of our component teams:

• Platform - which develops and operates Serenity, our production AIOps environment, on which Purple and our other intelligent services are built. This team stresses system design, software engineering skill, and operational maturity.
• Research - responsible for the experimentation, algorithm design, and evaluation methods required to turn ideas and techniques into intelligent systems.
• Knowledge - which acquires and curates the knowledge and datasets required to deliver well-grounded systems. This stresses database and information design, knowledge of elicitation methods, and product instrumentation; and the EQ required to organize and engage SME communities.

All three teams work at a fast pace in two-week sprints and come together at a weekly meetup to share problems and product ideas, and discuss the latest technical developments and challenges.

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

• One or more independent projects that use LLMs, Foundation Models, or other current machine learning technologies.
• Facility with Python and the tooling associated with machine learning experimentation, system development, and delivery.
• Extensive coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Machine Learning (or equivalent experience in another quantitative discipline) - in particular, you should have a clear understanding of the boundary between CS and ML.
• Must currently be enrolled in a degree-seeking program.
• Ideally, a strong, practical understanding of current practices and challenges in cybersecurity.
