Back-End Developer (with Front-End Exposure)

We’re looking for a Developer who thrives on designing and building robust backend systems—but also enjoys seeing their work come to life in the front end. If you like working across the stack and owning systems end-to-end, this role is for you.
What you’ll do
You’ll be at the core of a data-intensive platform powering hundreds of installations worldwide.
- Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines
- Work on our streaming data platform (real-time data processing, ingestion, and distribution)
- Ensure systems are reliable, observable, and performant
- Contribute to data modeling, database design, and architecture decisions
- Collaborate with front-end developers to deliver seamless end-to-end features
- Set up and improve monitoring, logging, and data quality checks
- Take ownership from development to deployment and production operations
- Continuously improve systems through experimentation and innovation
What you bring
- A degree in Computer Science (or similar) or 3+ years of experience
- Strong backend development skills (Java and/or Python)
- Experience with:
- API design and distributed systems
- Data streaming or messaging systems (e.g., Kafka)
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and system reliability
- Experience with databases (relational and/or time-series)
- A mindset focused on performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Ability and willingness to collaborate across the stack, including front-end teams
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Nice to have
- Exposure to front-end development (TypeScript/JavaScript)
- Experience with data-intensive applications or analytics platforms
- Familiarity with industrial protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, NMEA)
- Interest in UX or data visualization
