We are looking for an (Assistant) Team Leader for a specialist in industrial surface treatment in Breda. Someone who likes to get things done, is good at planning, and knows how to motivate colleagues. You will work on the shop floor and contribute ideas on how to improve things.
You will be joining a family business where everyone knows each other and works well together. The current team leader is retiring in a few years, so you will have the opportunity to be thoroughly trained and grow into the role. You will be employed directly by this client, not through a temporary employment agency or similar arrangement.

Tasks

Your challenge
The company offers services such as powder coating, wet painting, blasting, pre-treatment, and the assembly and disassembly of products. Customers come from the manufacturing industry—think furniture frames, lamps, fencing, and machine parts.
As an (Assistant) Team Leader, you will work alongside your colleagues and keep an overview of the work. You will ensure that everything runs smoothly in the workshop. Your tasks:

• Managing and motivating colleagues
• Planning and monitoring orders
• Receiving and processing incoming goods
• Checking outgoing goods
• Improving processes and work distribution

You will liaise closely with the office, where a young and enthusiastic team takes care of administration and purchasing. Together, you will ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Requirements

Your profile

• You have an MBO or HBO level of working and thinking.
• You have several years of experience in production, metalworking, surface treatment, or logistics.
• You are good at work preparation, planning, and process improvement.
• You have knowledge of safety and quality in an industrial environment.
• You have technical insight and like to contribute ideas for solutions.
• You communicate clearly, both with your team and with customers.
• You work in a structured manner, take initiative, and also help out on the shop floor.
• You are a down-to-earth and practical person, reliable and quality-oriented. You maintain an overview, switch gears quickly, and think in terms of solutions. And you ensure a good atmosphere in the team.

Important: you do not need to be an experienced manager yet. This position is ideal if you already have coordinating tasks or experience as a working foreman and want to grow into a managerial role.

Since the main languages used within the team are English and Dutch, we require applicants to be proficient in at least English or Dutch, both verbally and in writing.

• A gross monthly salary between €3,200 and €3,800* depending on your experience.
• A 36 to 38-hour* working week, spread over 5 working days.

* We expect this position to require approximately 46.5 hours per week, from Monday to Friday (6:00 a.m. To 5:00 p.m.). Your basic contract is for 36 to 38 hours per week; the extra hours are fully compensated in accordance with our overtime regulations. This means that hours worked outside your contractual working week are paid as overtime, according to the applicable rate as laid down in our employment regulations or collective labor agreement.

This allows us to offer clarity and fair compensation for your efforts, so you know where you stand. Overtime is always included in your monthly salary payment.
