In order to facilitate and guide the commercial and professional growth within Mefiag in Heerenveen and to develop commercial synergy across the three production locations, for our client, we are looking for an international sales and marketing manager.
This is a very challenging and new position in which you bear direct responsibility for the daily management of the commercial team in Heerenveen consisting of five employees and the indirect management of seven commercially active colleagues at the locations in the USA, China and Mexico. Additionally, you plan and manage the sales effort for the subsidiary. Worldwide, you coordinate the commercial policy and ensure that customers can be optimally served with production locations on various continents. Your tasks includes international travel for approximately 50% of your time. You focus on maintaining contact with key accounts in Europe, including a number of large suppliers for the automotive sector in Germany and large OEMers in order to discuss complex and challenging projects.
In addition to the abovementioned daily activities, you manage customer relationships, promote brand value and facilitate profitable market share growth. You also develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals and meet business unit operating plans. You do this in close consultation with a director of one of the sister organizations in the Netherlands who is responsible for the part-time management of the Mefiag location in Heerenveen and a management board team in the USA. You also represent the company in various domestic/internationally focused organizations and events. You confer with the management board about the development of marketing strategy, recommend product and product line revisions, as well as pricing changes where you closely collaborate with cross-functional peers promoting functional alignment. You regularly consult with the marketing department at CECO in the USA regarding subjects such as sales promotion, training and developing sales case studies. For the management board in the USA, you prepare and submit rolling monthly forecasts for each business with weekly cadence reviews and you monitor and evaluate activities in each region, including sales, margins, market trends and competitor activity. You develop and maintain price lists for new and existing products based on marketplace acceptance and margin requirements.
Extensive knowledge of and experience with the products of Mefiag is present within the organization, both in the Netherlands as well as in the USA, Mexico and China. Because of the many contacts you make within the organization, you are capable of easily transferring this knowledge to the customer and in doing so help the customer make the right choices within the extensive possibilities of Mefiag® Filters & Pumps.
RequirementsYou have a sound educational background HBO (Higher Vocational Education)/academic in commercial/technical or business administration and you have extensive work experience in a technically and commercially leading role within an international setting. You are a technical generalist who is perfectly capable of taking stock of the customer demand, both commercially and technically speaking, and is able to translate this to creative technical solutions together with colleagues. You speak English and German well, speaking French or Spanish is also a pro. You also have sufficient technical affinity and knowledge to be able to hold substantiated conversations on various levels. You are prepared to travel internationally for about 50% of the time.
You are a networker and relationship manager in heart and soul. You easily make the right contacts between the location in Heerenveen and technically and commercially oriented colleagues in the USA, China and Mexico. You just as easily converse with an employee on the work floor in Heerenveen as with a director in the USA. Your likeability and authenticity give you those skills. As a manager, you are capable of using your enthusiasm to fulfill an inspiring and motivating role within the organization and your attitude is aimed at collaboration. With your broad technical knowledge and commercial insight, you win and keep the customers' trust. You are able to execute a project both effectively and efficiently.
