As a Corporate Paralegal you are part of the Group Legal team. The Group Legal team is part of the General Counsel remit and consists of several (Senior) Legal Counsels and is headed by the Head of Legal. The Corporate Paralegal will report to the Head of Legal. The role entails working in a regulated and international environment, in close co-operation with colleagues from all sorts of professional disciplines at the international holding, called the Corporate Center, as well as with colleagues from all over the world. You will work on a variety of legal matters, with a strong focus on corporate law and governance in the broadest sense.

As a Corporate Paralegal you will be adding value in the following fields:

  • Corporate housekeeping: preparing documentation, liaising with and managing of corporate services providers, arranging legalisation of documents, ensuring necessary filings (e.g. Commercial Register) and other requirements for good corporate standing are complied with.
  • Corporate transactions: maintenance of the Dutch legal entities of the Corporate Center, assisting in execution of (foreign) corporate transactions, including drafting legal documentation. Program manager of the global programme to control legal entities within the Aegon group.
  • Legal entity database: maintaining the data of the legal entities of the Corporate Center, securing the governance and the accuracy of the legal entity database for the Aegon group. The provision of basic technical support to the users of the legal entity database.
  • Main point of contact for trademark related matters.
  • Assisting with organising the annual shareholders’ meeting of Aegon N.V.
  • Contract management: setting up a contract database, arranging for due execution and filing of contracts, mapping existing contractual relationships and monitoring obligations under contracts in force, as well as renewals and amendments.
  • Filings: assisting with filings with banks, (international) regulators and other authorities.
  • Supporting M&A transactions: e.g. preparing confidentiality agreements, process letters, closing checklists and coordination of the due diligence process.

To be successful in this position, you feel comfortable operating in a dynamic work environment in which you have a large variety of responsibilities and stakeholders. Because of your organizational sensitivity and interpersonal skills you know how to quickly build relationships with peers and maintain them.


a Corporate Paralegal at Aegon you are proactive, diligent and have a strong sense of responsibility concerning your work. Moreover, you have the following qualifications:

  • a bachelor or an academic degree in Dutch (corporate) law;
  • professional experience of at least 3 years in a (para-)legal role in a corporate law environment;
  • good Dutch and English language and drafting skills;
  • experience with online document/legal entity management systems is a must.

You will be working at the Aegon head office in The Hague, where the working language is English. There is a possibility to work part-time.
