Program Manager

The Tools and Experiences team within Azure SQL focuses on building the entire stack of user experiences from command line tools up through graphical user tools and the Azure Portal.As ateam, wework closely with customers, designers, UX researchers, software engineers, marketing, and the field to create high quality, secure, accessible, customer delighting experiences for developers, database administrators, and data professionals around the world.We prioritize inclusion, respect, empathy and a sense of psychological safety in our team.

In this role we are seeking someone with a passion for accessible design and user experiences to work primarily on feature design for the Azure SQL portal, as well as being the accessibility champ for the entire suite of SQL tools.While initially targeting portal experiences, as part of an active and dynamic team, your voice will be valued and you will have the ability to explore and contribute to a wide set of user experiences that have high impact for users around the world. You will be working within a welcoming team which is committed to your growth and success in the role.

This is a UX PM role for the Azure SQL team, where you will be responsible for feature delivery of user experiences and ownership of the accessibility design and testing for the product suite. To that end, the following qualificationswould indicate a higher likelihood of success in the role:

  • Industry experience or education inuser experience design.
  • Adetail oriented andrepeatable approach in solving complex problems.
  • Ability tocommunicate to senior decision makers in a clear, compelling way, and drive decisive action in partnership with others.
  • Basic knowledge of how databases work and how they are used by developers.
  • Ability to understand, work with, and create data driven approaches to understanding product usage.
  • Abilityto translate business requirements andscenarios into products and services, ability to deliver results in an environment of ambiguity.
  • Stellar cross group collaboration, able to drive decisive action in partnership with others in a large organization and deliver results that depend on other divisions and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently in highly ambiguous environments, with both technical and business groups internally and externally.

These qualifications wouldbe of particular interest to the team, but are not required:

  • 2+ years’ experience in product or program management or similar areas
  • Experience indesigning and building accessible interfaces
  • Experience with accessibility standards for commercial and enterprise software
  • Experience withMicrosoft SQL Server or Azure SQL
  • Track record of delivering services and/or shipping productsin a commercial software setting
