Oracle Application Express is one of their main tools for developing Web applications with SQL and PL/SQL and its adoption within companies is growing rapidly. Working permanently at our respected client office in Amsterdam, on projects of varying size utilising your Oracle APEX knowledge and PL/SQL skills as a developer you will take your existing skills to the highest possible level. One of the employers products is a Security Finance system which is a real-time, multi-entity, multi-product, multi-currency, all-encompassing global securities financing platform. It provides rich functionality that caters for the needs of front, middle and back office users alike to process securities financing transactions efficiently through the full transaction lifecycle within a single application. Supported by a technical architecture that is based on industry standard technology, the APEX technology enables easy integration with existing applications by providing a standard interface library and configurable interface capabilities. In essence, APEX provides a single, consolidated solution for the market, with full front-to-back-office processing on a highly scalable technology platform.
Currently, another product of theirs is undergoing a major upgrade to a ERP solution. You might want to join the team responsible for the greenfield design, development and maintenance of their core Oracle application working through the full development lifecycle.
Typical work activities include:
-working across the full development lifecycle and covering development and system Improvements, and some application support.
-designing and developing using Oracle APEX and PL/SQL packages and procedures.
-designing and developing integration between core on premise and cloud based applications.
-thinking creatively to bring new ideas and concepts to the existing application(s).
-estimating the time required to complete work, providing the finished items inline with the original estimate.
-ensuring quality delivery of software including creating documentation and completing testing and code reviews where needed.
-taking full ownership and responsibility for applications developed providing on-going application support if required.
What experience/skills/attributes do you need?
-strong experience working with highly skilled design teams and working with deadlines.
-experience with Oracle APEX, preferably APEX 5.1.
-experience working with Oracle database technologies, in particular SQL, PL/SQL, Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers and Views.
-exposure to the full development lifecycle, including requirement gathering/analysis, design, development, testing, Implementation and support.
-ability to work across the full development lifecycle either individually or part of a team.
-excellent communication skills and able to present information to management and other team members.
-high level of creativity with a pragmatic outlook.
-excellent problem solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
-ability to deal effectively with rapidly changing requirements and prioritise workload to help maximise employers performance.
-a positive attitude and enthusiasm to improve techniques, implement appropriate new technologies and transfer knowledge throughout the development team.
The desirable skills include:
-strong exposure to Oracle Data Integrator or Oracle ICS middleware tools.
-experience with Oracle Financials ERP and customization.
