The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Chef, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day performance of your kitchen, ensuring every dish is prepared consistently, efficiently and to an exceptional standard.
You’ll lead and develop your kitchen team, maintain an organised and positive working environment and help deliver an outstanding experience for every customer.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance quality and creativity with the urgency required within a fast-paced café kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation and delivery of the breakfast and brunch menu.
* Ensure dishes are produced consistently and in line with agreed specifications.
* Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation and flavour.
* Bring creativity and fresh thinking to the kitchen while protecting consistency and quality.
* Lead, support and develop the kitchen team.
* Create an organised, efficient and positive working environment.
* Manage kitchen stock levels and minimise unnecessary waste.
* Build effective relationships with suppliers.
* Support operational efficiency and strong cost control.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and compliance.
* Help create a supportive culture that reflects the values of a growing family business.
About You
You’ll be an experienced chef or kitchen leader with a strong background in fresh-food environments.
You’ll bring:
* Previous experience leading a busy breakfast, brunch or kitchen.
* A genuine passion for fresh food, flavour and quality.
* A creative approach to food and a strong understanding of what makes dishes memorable.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow dish specifications.
* The ability to lead calmly and effectively during busy service periods.
* A hands-on leadership style and a willingness to support the wider team.
* Excellent organisation and kitchen management skills.
* A strong understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance.
* The right to work in the UK.
Experience within a premium café, restaurant, bakery, hospitality or high-volume fresh-food environment would be particularly beneficial.
