How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Investigations and Malpractice Manager

Salary: £35,200 - £45,700

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office)

Contract: 1x Permanent

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

We are looking for an Investigations & Malpractice Manager to provide operational and investigative support to major investigations into potential malpractice, ensuring fair outcomes for test takers and strengthening global security practices.

About the role

As Malpractice and Investigations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategy that safeguards the reputation and integrity of our English language assessments worldwide. This role bridges strategic oversight from the Senior Quality and Compliance Manager Lead with hands-on execution and adherence of standards provides expert guidance on complex cases, drives improvements to prevent future issues, and contributes to the development of policies and standards that safeguard exam security worldwide.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:

* Support investigative strategy and contribute to global security policy and improvements.

* Support the management of high priority malpractice and security investigations.

* Support post incident reviews and root cause analysis to identify systemic issues or vulnerabilities.

* Recommend corrective actions, policy updates or enhancements to reduce future risk and strengthen integrity.

* Collaborate across teams and with external partners to ensure our security measures and compliance standards are robust, scalable, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About you

* Experience in investigative methodologies and malpractice patterns.

* Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofqual security conditions)

* Experience in exam operations and global test integrity and security risks

* Ability to lead complex or sensitive cases and conduct root cause analysis.

* Experience producing high level reports and insights for senior audiences.

* Leadership skills, including line management or team oversight.

* Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and problem solving capabilities.
