About the role and school
Teach Plus is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Southall, starting ASAP. This full-time Teaching Assistant role involves supporting a small SEND class of approximately 6-8 children with complex additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties (SLCN), and children who are non-verbal. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide tailored support to help pupils access learning, develop communication skills, build independence and engage positively with their school environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with a passion for special educational needs and a genuine commitment to making a difference in children's lives.
The school is an inclusive primary setting in the Southall and wider Ealing area, serving a diverse local community and placing pupil wellbeing, inclusion and individual progress at the heart of its approach. The school promotes a supportive learning environment where children are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally. Staff work collaboratively to provide structured learning opportunities, consistent routines and personalised support for pupils with additional needs. The leadership team values teamwork, positive relationships and creating an environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
This Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit someone who is patient, proactive and confident supporting children with complex SEND. Whether you have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive school environment.
