Metal Polisher
We are recruiting for an experienced Metal Polisher to work for our client who are located in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for polishing and finishing metal moulds and components to a high standard, ensuring surface quality meets production and customer specifications.
THE DUTIES OF A TOOLMAKER:
 Polishing metal moulds and precision components to achieve required surface finishes
 Using hand tools, polishing equipment, and abrasive materials
 Working with materials such as tool steel, aluminium, and stainless steel
 Inspecting mould surfaces for defects, scratches, or imperfections
 Carrying out mirror, high-gloss, or fine surface finishes where required
 Working from engineering drawings and specifications
 Maintaining polishing equipment and work area
 Supporting the toolmaking or production team when required
 Ensuring work is completed within required quality standards and timescales
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
 Previous experience as a Metal Polisher, Tool Polisher, or Mould Polisher
 Experience polishing injection mould tools or precision engineering components preferred
 Ability to achieve high-quality surface finishes
 Familiarity with polishing compounds, stones, and abrasive papers
 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
 Strong attention to detail and quality
THE HOURS:
Permanent, Full Time.
We have either a fixed days or fixed nights shift pattern available:
1 – Permanent Days – Monday – Thursday 7.30am-5pm / Friday 7.30am-12.30pm
2- Permanent Nights – Monday – Thursday 6am-6pm
THE PAY:
1- Permanent Days – £15-17 per hour
2- Permanent Nights – £19 -£22.66 per hour ( includes shift allowance )
