As a General Accountant, you will take responsibility for financial accuracy and compliance while being part of a small, close-knit team. This role combines hands-on accounting work with broader tasks, from managing reconciliations to supporting audits and reporting requirements. You will work at the heart of the organization and contribute to both financial stability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) accounts, including reconciliations with the General Ledger.
- Manage and monitor the payment plan to ensure timely vendor and customer settlements.
- Record and maintain journal entries and support cash flow management/forecasting.
- Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including cash reconciliations.
- Handle VAT, Intrastat, and CBS reporting to ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Review and prepare month-end closing activities with accuracy and timeliness.
- Support external audits and provide required documentation.
- Manage and administer company insurance policies.
- Provide ad-hoc cross-functional support and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- HBO degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance.
- Proven experience with VAT, ICP, and CBS reporting (mandatory).
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Exact Online.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure.
