The Legal & Compliance department at ASML helps ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations worldwide. Within this department, the Export Control & Sanctions team is responsible for maintaining and improving the company's export control compliance framework. As an intern, you will contribute to strengthening business controls that help manage export control risks across a global organization. This internship offers you the opportunity to work with multiple business sectors while gaining practical experience in compliance, risk management, and international regulations.
Your assignment
During this internship, you will help strengthen compliance processes across a global and highly innovative organization. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders and gain insight into how export control requirements apply to products, software, and business activities. The internship offers exposure to multiple processes and departments, making it an excellent opportunity to develop stakeholder management and compliance expertise.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Support the enhancement of business controls that mitigate export control risks.
- Assist in monitoring the execution and effectiveness of compliance controls.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments and business lines to identify compliance requirements.
- Contribute to the expansion of the export control compliance framework across ASML group companies.
- Analyze processes related to products, software, and business activities to identify compliance improvements.
- Support reporting activities and provide insights on compliance performance.
- Contribute to export control and compliance-related projects across the organization.
Your profile
To be suitable for the internship, you:
- Are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in law, international relations, risk management, assurance, compliance, or a related field.
- Are detail-oriented and able to work accurately in a structured environment.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Are proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Communicate effectively in English and collaborate well with diverse teams.
- Have an interest in compliance, governance, international regulations, or risk management.
Other requirements you need to meet:
- You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship, and you are at least 18 years old at the start of the internship;
- If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement);
- You attach your cover letter with a clear motivation on why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
- You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your application shows the willingness to relocate.
