Job Purpose:
As Category Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and executing category strategies across the region. This is a 1-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement.
You will be responsible for selecting and contracting suppliers, driving cost efficiency, ensuring high-quality delivery, and continuously monitoring supplier performance. By combining market expertise, strategic thinking, and strong stakeholder management, you will help strengthen DHL's position as the world leader in logistics and supply chain solutions.
Your tasks:
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, from identifying needs to selecting suppliers, conducting negotiations, and managing contracts.
- Develop, define, and implement innovative category strategies that create long-term value for DHL.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business needs and procurement solutions.
- Monitor supplier performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Analyze market trends, benchmark best practices, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and savings.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and share knowledge within the global procurement community.
- Relevant university degree and/or equivalent experience, preferably with a degree in engineering or related field.
Your profile:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in sourcing automation solutions and CAPEX projects for warehouse systems, ideally within Mail & Parcels operations.
- Proven expertise in negotiation, with a strong track record of successful deals.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Dutch is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project, and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of synthesizing and interpreting large amounts of data.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with experience managing complex projects.
