Your role in our shared journey
Located at our EMEA headquarters in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam, you'll contribute to our EMEA Customs and Trade compliance team. This team serves as the center of expertise for ensuring seamless product flow into and within the ASICS EMEA region. As the Customs and Trade Compliance Senior Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining effective customs processes in accordance with customs and trade regulations while optimizing operational efficiency across regions.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Ensure effective customs management for all imports and exports throughout the EMEA region.
- Manage product classification, valuation, and utilize beneficial treatments for competitive advantage.
- Foster an end-to-end mindset to drive process improvements together with cross-functional teams when gaps and risks are identified.
- Assist with internal and external audits to ensure full compliance and adherence to trade regulations.
- Active monitoring of relevant legislation pertaining to trade compliance throughout the region.
- Review and maintain Customs department SOPs.
- Provide meaningful KPIs and analytical insights for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement strategic development and apply customs know-how effectively.
- Be the first point of contact for customs brokers, manage costs and participate in customs broker management reviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with customs authorities and government agencies.
You have the following skills:
- University degree in SCM, Logistics, Customs, Law, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years professional experience in customs and trade compliance.
- Experience with AEO certification, SOP management, internal customs audits
- In-depth knowledge of FTAs, Customs Valuation, Classification of products and Rules of Origin
- Knowledge of customs procedures and customs law in EMEA region, including the UK, ZA, NO, CH.
- Fluency in English, additional languages are an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities in a matrix environment.
- Proactive mindset, strategic thinker and self-starter.
- Proficiency in relevant customs software, SAP, and WMS systems.
- Drive to further grow and develop within the field of Customs and Trade Compliance.
