You’ll bridge customer needs, market opportunities, and strategic execution, determining which FS propositions we build, how we position them, and what success looks like. Financial Services can generate considerable benefits, but which opportunities should we focus on first? You’ll navigate competing priorities: customer research beckons in one direction, market trends point another way, regulatory constraints limit our options, and internal stakeholders all have (very) strong, divergent opinions. To maximize your impact, you’ll need to balance visionary thinking with pragmatic execution, creating strategies that inspire teams while remaining grounded in what’s actually achievable.

What you'll do as FS Strategy & Proposition Developer

You’ll join the brand-new FS Strategy & Proposition team, reporting to the Director of FinTech. This team acts as the customer’s voice within Financial Services, spotting opportunities, shaping bold ideas into real propositions, and informing strategic decisions. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, designers, analysts, our internal incubator, and cross-functional leaders to ensure our Financial Services deliver the value we all expect and hope for.

This role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on proposition development. You’ll dive into the Financial Services landscape, mastering data to understand customer behavior, partner needs, and market dynamics. Through customer research and outside‑in perspectives, you’ll identify shortcomings in existing propositions and opportunities for new services to create step‑change value. You’ll also help shape our long‑term FS strategy, translating market opportunities into roadmaps that align stakeholders from product teams to C-level. In short, you’ll navigate the challenges of innovating within Financial Services: balancing customer needs with regulatory necessities, finding the sweet spot between bold vision and practical execution, and creating propositions that flourish within bol’s broader ecosystem.

• Identify and develop new FS propositions and business models that create value for customers, partners, and bol
• Spot opportunities to improve existing Financial Services propositions through customer research and data analysis
• Shape our long‑term FS strategy and help drive strategic choices and roadmaps
• Lead strategic projects, from identifying opportunities to writing business cases and generating organizational commitment
• Align diverse stakeholders across product, tech, commercial, and C-level on strategic direction
• Bridge customer needs, market opportunities, technical feasibility, and commercial viability

You combine 5+ years of experience in proposition development, strategy, consulting, or customer research with extensive Financial Services expertise. Your background in payments, embedded finance, open banking, or related domains means you understand both the opportunities and constraints inherent in FS.
