Step into the dynamic world of e-commerce and become the financial backbone for seven of our growing entities. As our new GL Accountant, you will not only be responsible for flawless accounting but also for helping build the future of our finance department.

As a GL Accountant, you are the backbone of our financial operations and will work closely with AR/AP specialists and the finance administrator. You combine accuracy with a strategic perspective and take full ownership of the following domains:

• Complete management: You are the owner of the full financial administration from A to Z for 7 legal entities (NL x3, DK, US, ES, DE).

• Closings and reporting: You independently handle the month, quarter, and year-end closings and ensure timely and accurate reporting that serves as the basis for crucial business decisions.

• Fiscal responsibility: Preparing and filing various tax returns (VAT, Corporate Income Tax) is your responsibility.

• Annual account: You prepare the files for the annual financial statements are the primary point of contact for our external accountants (abroad).

• Process innovation: You proactively identify opportunities for improvement in our financial processes and systems. You play a key role in the selection and implementation of new (AI-driven) tools to elevate our department to the next level.

You are a communicatively strong and perfectly organized professional. With your open and positive mindset, you are a valuable addition to our team. You are analytically sharp, proactive, and thrive in an environment where you can independently tackle complex challenges.

• A completed Bachelor's (HBO) or Master's (WO) degree in a financial field (e.g., Accountancy, Business Economics).

• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role as a (GL) Accountant or Assistant Controller.

• Thorough knowledge of Dutch GAAP and demonstrable experience in independently preparing annual financial statements. IFRS is a plus.

• A demonstrable affinity with IT systems and an insatiable curiosity for the practical application of AI and automation in finance is a pre.

• Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written) and a good understanding of the Dutch language.

• You live near our office in Utrecht and are willing to work from the office at least twice a week.

• Plus: Experience with Exact Online and QuickBooks.

Some practical things we expect from you:

• You’re available for at least 4 days a week (32 hours).

• You are willing to come to our Utrecht office for two days/week.

• You have a valid work permit for the Netherlands or EU citizenship.

• The base salary is gross between €3,515 and €4,500 per month based on a 40-hour workweek. The salary is determined based on experience.

• 8% holiday allowance – 8% of your yearly salary, which is paid together with the May salary.
