Our worldwide operating R&D center with more than 200 highly skilled Researchers, is located in Deventer, the Netherlands. Here, focused project teams work to meet current and future customer needs, and to develop new innovative products and new applications for existing products.
Your challenge as a Researcher
Find and explore key topics/themes for new R&D projects on recycling of polymers. Run R&D projects via our project management system. Perform your own experiments in the lab and read scientific and public literature to become a technical expert in polymer recycling within Nouryon.
You will:
- Deliver on specific R&D projects via project management. Result: perform technical experiments, organize and present results in R&D meetings, write R&D reports, deliver new products or technology, file invention disclosures.
- Participate in R&D projects as team member. Result: the project is steered in the right direction towards successful completion of the R&D project.
- Exploratory R&D. Result: perform and maintain scientific and other literature research, design experiments, perform experimental work, spin-off to an R&D project and write reports.
- Support our sales and marketing by technical support to customers. Result: Perform experimental work, provide and report data, give advice.
Have you got what it takes
To be eligible for this exciting position, you have a deep interest in reactive extrusion and recycling of polymers. You bring a hands-on mentality to the lab and you are able to exchange ideas and pursue new challenges together with colleagues.
Furthermore, you have/are:
- >3y experience in polymer extrusion and/or polymer modification in a research environment.
- Have a MSc or PhD in Polymer Science (i.e. polymer material science, polymer/ rubber technology, polymer recycling or similar scientific field)
- Proven skills in polymer materials science and hands-on mentality in the lab.
- Creative and a high interest in innovation
- Good communication, reporting and presentation skills.
- Good language skills, written and spoken English.
- Flexible and team player.
- Experience working in project management is a plus.
