You are an experienced, result-driven and people-minded production manager, dedicated to bringing our dynamic production site in Wapenveld to the next level regarding safety, productivity and process improvements.What will you encounter in this position?
AkzoNobel is one of the global leaders in paints and coatings. At our site in Wapenveld, we produce various paints, coatings, and putties for different (global) businesses of AkzoNobel. You will encounter a dynamic work environment with more than 140 motivated and passionate people working in production, logistics, quality control, maintenance and related departments.
At the Wapenveld site we are continuously improving our processes, catching up on modernization and implementing new high standards. The organization and workforce are in a steady change, where we empower our people to take more responsibilities in their own work. You are an ambassador of this modernization in the plant and of this empowerment at the site.
As Production Manager, you will be part of the management team and report to the Site & Operations Manager in Wapenveld. You are direct line manager of three Production Supervisors, one Logistics Supervisor and a team of four Schedulers / Administrators. Indirectly, you are responsible for a team of 85 employees in operations.What will you do?
You make sure that the production, warehousing and scheduling is running smoothly every day. As Production Manager, you are responsible for safety in your departments, the output of good quality product and for meeting our productivity targets. You can be decisive when it comes to daily operational matters as well as strategic and analytical when defining future improvement plans.
You strive to improve safety, productivity, efficiency and engagement by embracing people development, empowerment and a continuous improvement mind-set. You are clear on expectations, inspire others to deliver, support and appreciate the efforts of employees and you are directive and strict when circumstances require.What tasks and duties are associated with this role?
In this role you will…
You have a solid 5 to 10 years of work experience as Production Manager and a track record as effective leader. You are experienced with change management, organizational development, people development and improvements in safety and behavior.
You are a team player who enjoys an operational dynamic environment and who is keen on advancing the production on its journey of modernization and empowerment. In this environment you effectively manage improvement projects, you delegate responsibilities and keep the overview. You are decisive and a natural leader in steering the team in the right direction.
You have very good communication and stakeholder management skills. You leverage the strengths of others in your team and in your network.What do you bring?
• 5 to 10 years’ experience as Production Manager or leader in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience in change management and organizational development
• Result-driven, decisive, analytical and structured competences
• Motivating, inspiring and trustworthy people management skills
• Passion for continuous improvement (L6S) and productivity improvement
• Knowledgeable in working with HSE directives and processes
• HBO or master’s degree in Engineering- or Industrial Engineering
• Fluently in Dutch and English
