A 4-year Senior Postdoctoral Researcher position is available in our laboratory, starting early 2020, to study the role of virus-specific tissue-resident T-cells (Trm) involved in the control vs. pathogenesis of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infections in humans. The project will involve detailed analysis of the phenotype, antigen specificity and spatial orientation of HSV-1 reactive CD4 and CD8 Trm cells in trigeminal ganglia (immune control) and corneas (immunepathogenesis) of latently HSV-1-infected individuals.Work environment
The Department of Viroscience employs more than 225 employees of different disciplines and runs an extensive experimental research program on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of infections by human and animal viruses. The Dept Viroscience harbors well-equipped clinical and experimental virology labs, in which all the virology, molecular biology, pathology and immunology techniques necessary for this project are operational. The position is a unique 4-year fixed term contract, starting as soon as possible.The gross monthly salary amounts a maximum of € 5.383,- (scale 11), depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours.
