This specific initiative will work on an initiative focusing on the Housing Value Space.

You will be working in the ING Labs Amsterdam office in a very international and dynamic environment. The customer drive the ING innovation methodology process (PACE) and you will validate the key assumptions of the proposition and the business along the way.

A market to develop

Homeowners manifest a growing need for security, control and well-being. We are exploring developing a Smart Home Graph that upon opening, is filled with existing data and adding data sources from other ING initiatives and solutions but also other parties around utilities, maintenance, installed services, energy labels and government overviews provide a complete picture for consumers that enables them to manage, sell and investing their home more efficiently. The Digital Home Graph we are working on has been identified as a key enabler in the end-to-end housing strategy of ING and is highly data driven.

Your role

As the Initiative Lead, you will take on this initiative from the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) phase onward to bring it to the Pilot phase. You will define and drive the business vision for the initiative, build and guide the team through the process, setting priorities and taking decisions on the road map keeping it all under the budget given.

You will be required to work with the current team and hire the additional resources needed as the initiative progresses. You will get support from several Labs support units like, but not limited to, PACE coaches, service designers and developers. The initiative will continue to go through a stage gated innovation process throughout its development.

This is mainly an ING- Internal clients facing role. You will keep on validating the vision and aligning it with internal and external sponsors, and other stakeholders. You will also work closely with the Beyond Banking/Innovation teams in Germany and the Netherlands.

Your deliverables

In your first 4 months, you are expected to bring this initiative successfully from MVP phase (Minimum Viable Product/Prototyping) to the development of the product, and get ready for the Pilot phase with customers, both B2B and B2C.

Your profile

  • You are a passionate professional with an existing footprint and strong expertise in the Housing space
  • You have previous experience of building a data platform/initiative from scratch keeping in mind Corporate regulations and aligning with all stakeholders involved
  • You have a data-driven approach and proven track records of successful outcomes
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and can navigate through the corporate discussions at the same time
  • You are familiar working with Lean Start Up and Design Thinking
  • You’re able to manage a project within a budget and make financial decisions accordingly
  • You are a leader, a team player and a coach and don’t mind to roll up your sleeves
  • You have an energetic, positive mind set and can-do mentality
  • Understanding of the technology behind the platforms (ITP, Azure Cloud for example) is a plus to work with developers and related technical teams
