The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are working with a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor with an excellent reputation across Scotland to assist them in hiring a Contracts Manager for their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a successful business and take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering projects. Working closely with the operational and commercial teams, you will oversee projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, commercially and to programme.
As the Contracts Manager your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Managing multiple civil engineering projects from commencement through to successful completion
Providing leadership and support to Project Managers, Site Agents, Site Managers and wider site teams
Monitoring project programmes, costs, resources and overall performance
Managing client relationships, subcontractors, suppliers and other key project stakeholders
Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contractual, health and safety, quality and environmental requirements
Identifying and managing commercial, operational and programme risks while supporting the wider business with future opportunities
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
Previous experience working as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within civil engineering
Proven experience managing multiple projects and operational teams
Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods and project delivery
Commercial awareness with a good understanding of contracts, costs and project performance
Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
