The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
To act as the Council's Principal Advisor on Planning, Economic Development and Climate Change
To provide an effective and successful planning and regulatory service that enables development to meet the physical, economic and social needs of the borough and the wider spatial area. To prepare and implement the Council's strategy to mitigate climate change, including climate action projects jointly across Council service areas.
Ensuring that staff and service performance is well managed, makes continuous improvements and that comprehensive accountability systems are maintained.
To develop and maintain effective links with the private sector, Hertfordshire Futures, County Council, other Local Authorities and other key groups to enable the Council to maximise growth opportunities and inward investment to the area.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, to proactively contribute to the Council's effective corporate governance and the formulation of corporate strategy, policy, plans and targets; communicating and sharing responsibility in delivering the Council's corporate vision and strategic objectives.
To be accountable for the economic, efficient and effective delivery of all services in the service group the continuous improvement of service quality in these services, and for exploring and securing innovative ways of working, including opportunities for shared services, partnership working and income generation.
