How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The School

Our client is a small, one-form-entry primary school with approximately 180 pupils, educating children from Nursery through to Year 6. The school has a warm and inclusive atmosphere, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and building positive relationships with pupils.

Inclusion, pupil wellbeing and independence are central to the school's approach, with staff working together to ensure children receive the support they need to make progress both academically and personally.

The school's latest Ofsted inspection judged early years provision, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management as Good.

    What Will You Be Doing?

The two Teaching Assistants will work with pupils presenting a range of additional needs. Responsibilities may include:

Supporting minimally verbal children in EYFS, encouraging communication, interaction and engagement.
Working with KS1 pupils with autism, helping them participate in lessons and develop their independence.
Supporting KS2 pupils with SEMH needs, including emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement.
Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions and support.
Helping pupils access lessons through appropriately differentiated and engaging activities.
Establishing positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Working alongside class teachers, SEN staff and other members of the school's support team.
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and greater independence.

    What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a Teaching Assistant who can demonstrate:

A patient, caring and nurturing approach.
A genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs.
Confidence working with pupils with autism, communication difficulties and/or SEMH needs.
The ability to build strong relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Flexibility when working across different year groups and areas of the school.
A calm and consistent approach when responding to challenging behaviour or emotional situations.
Reliability and a commitment to a full-time, long-term position.Previous experience in a primary school, SEN environment, specialist setting or similar role would be advantageous. However, applications are also welcomed from candidates with relevant transferable experience who are keen to develop their career in education.
