The Opportunity HGV Technician / PSV Technician
As an HGV Technician / PSV Technician, you'll carry out servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs to ensure the fleet remains safe, reliable and available for service. Working within a modern workshop, you'll use the latest diagnostic equipment while maintaining the highest engineering standards.
Requirements of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
Experience working as an HGV Technician / PSV Technician, Bus Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic vehicle systems.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
A positive attitude with a strong focus on quality and safety.
Responsibilities of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
Carry out routine servicing, inspections and scheduled maintenance.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
Undertake MOT preparation and safety inspections.
Use manufacturer diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults.
Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.
Ensure all work complies with DVSA standards and workshop procedures.
Work closely with the wider engineering team to minimise vehicle downtime.
