About the Company
Our client is a specialist RC Frame and Groundworks contractor delivering projects across London and the surrounding areas.
The company provides a complete service covering enabling works, deep excavations, drainage, foundations, basement construction and reinforced concrete structures. Their projects are delivered across the residential, commercial and mixed-use sectors, with packages typically valued between £5 million and £15 million.
Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in North West London.
About the Role
As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of RC Frame and Groundworks projects from initial procurement through to final account.
Working alongside an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, you will help manage project costs, subcontractor accounts, valuations and client payments. The role will provide exposure to major projects while offering the opportunity to develop your commercial experience within the specialist subcontracting sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the commercial management of RC Frame and Groundworks projects
* Supporting the preparation and submission of valuations
* Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management
* Monitoring project costs, variations and payments
* Preparing commercial reports and cost forecasts
* Supporting the agreement of variations and final accounts
* Working closely with the operational and site management teams
* Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
About the Requirements
* Previous experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
* RC Frame and Groundworks experience would be advantageous
* Degree educated in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline
* Good numerical, organisational and communication skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Ambition to develop within a specialist RC Frame and Groundworks contractor
