We are working with a high-growth, private equity-backed SaaS business headquartered in Scotland, with an international customer base and approximately £20m ARR.
The business has a clear and ambitious growth plan: to double ARR to £40m over the next three years, through a combination of strong organic growth and a targeted acquisition strategy. We are now looking for an outstanding Chief Financial Officer to join the leadership team and play a pivotal role in delivering this next phase of growth.
This is a genuine value-creation CFO opportunity — combining strategic leadership, commercial partnership and M&A with the responsibility for building a finance function capable of supporting a significantly larger international business.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board and private equity investors, the CFO will take ownership of the company's financial strategy and play a central role in shaping its next chapter.
The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment where the role extends well beyond traditional finance leadership.
Key priorities will include:
- Developing and executing the financial strategy to support growth from £20m to £40m ARR
- Providing commercial insight and challenge to the CEO and wider leadership team
- Leading the budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial planning processes
- Working closely with the PE sponsor and Board, providing clear and commercially focused financial information
- Building a scalable finance function, currently comprising a team of three
- Driving improvements in financial controls, systems, processes and reporting as the business scales
- Supporting and leading the M&A strategy, from acquisition assessment and due diligence through to transaction execution and integration
- Developing robust KPI and SaaS metrics reporting across the international business
- Optimising cash generation, working capital and capital allocation
- Supporting international expansion and ensuring the finance infrastructure keeps pace with growth
- Identifying opportunities to improve margins, operational efficiency and overall enterprise value
- Preparing the business for its next stage of institutional growth and, ultimately, a successful value-realisation event
About You
We are looking for a commercially minded CFO who combines strong technical finance credentials with the energy and pragmatism required to operate in a scaling SaaS environment.
You will ideally bring:
- Proven experience as a CFO / Finance Director / senior finance leader within a high-growth business
- Experience in SaaS, technology or another recurring-revenue business model
- Experience working in a private equity-backed environment
- A strong understanding of SaaS metrics, recurring revenue, retention, margins and growth economics
- Demonstrable M&A experience, ideally including acquisition integration
- Experience operating internationally
- A track record of building and developing finance teams and infrastructure through periods of rapid growth
- Strong commercial instincts and the ability to translate financial information into clear business decisions
- Confidence operating with CEOs, Boards, investors and senior stakeholders
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with a willingness to get into the detail when required
