How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the HR Director and working closely with Resourcing and HR Partners, this leadership and delivery role drives group-wide competence, training compliance, and talent development. It provides strategic oversight, operational management, and hands-on delivery of learning and competence assurance across site, offshore, workshop, and office environments, ensuring employees meet Nexos’ standards of safety, quality, and delivery while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and leadership at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Compliance:

  • Own and ensure full compliance with all training requirements across the Nexos Group, including statutory, regulatory, and customer-mandated training.
  • Monitor and report on training compliance metrics, identifying gaps and driving timely corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with HR, operational leaders, and business units to embed training compliance into daily practices and leadership accountability.
  • Lead audits and inspections related to training compliance, preparing evidence and responding to findings with effective resolution.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date training records and systems to support audit readiness and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and hands-on support to ensure all employees complete mandatory training within required timeframes.

Competence Management:

  • Lead and champion the Nexos Group Competence Management System, ensuring compliance with legislation, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Strategically assess, continuously improve, and directly deliver competence frameworks and processes to align with organisational goals.
  • Develop, mentor, and actively support assessors and verifiers, ensuring they are trained, competent, and aligned in delivering high‑quality assessments.
  • Collaborate with business functions to maintain, enhance, and implement organisational capability and workforce competence.
  • Lead reviews, sampling, and audits of assessments, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions with a focus on leadership accountability and hands-on resolution.
  • Maintain accurate, traceable, and audit-ready competence documentation.
  • Serve as the organisational subject matter expert for the CMS, supporting onboarding, ongoing adoption, leadership engagement, and direct intervention where needed.
  • Drive improvement initiatives, deliver corrective actions, and report progress to the Leadership Team, influencing strategic decisions.

Learning & Development:

  • Lead talent development initiatives for high-performing employees, providing strategic advice and directly delivering progression pathways.
  • Design, develop, enhance, and implement the Nexos Graduate Programme to meet capability and succession needs with a leadership and delivery focus.
  • Oversee early careers programmes, acting as the main contact for apprentices and graduates, fostering leadership development and hands-on support.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with external education partners, ensuring delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • Develop SCORM packages for in-house CBTs to support scalable learning solutions.
  • Champion external engagement initiatives such as DYW and Career Ready, promoting Nexos’ leadership in the community.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Learning & Development and Competence roles, including designing frameworks, managing LMS, and delivering programmes, with demonstrated leadership and hands-on delivery capabilities.
  • Strong track record delivering training and competence assurance in regulated environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills with leadership presence.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver results, inspire diverse stakeholders, and execute plans effectively.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident presenter with clear, compelling delivery and the ability to influence.
  • Analytical, solutions-focused problem solver with strategic thinking and practical execution.
  • High attention to detail and quality.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure while leading and delivering outcomes.
