Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a varied role within a friendly and professional team? If you enjoy finance, love keeping things organised and are happy to support different areas of a business when needed, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
We are recruiting for a well-established local business seeking an Accounts Assistant to join them on a 3-6 month temporary assignment.
This position is predominantly finance-focused, with around 80% of your time dedicated to accounts duties. The remaining part of the role will involve providing holiday cover and administrative support within the Purchasing department, helping to ensure the smooth running of the wider business.
Finance & Accounts
Posting and allocating daily bank transactions
Processing customer receipts and supplier payments
Producing and issuing customer invoices
Supporting sales ledger and purchase ledger activities
Reconciling supplier statements
Investigating and resolving account queries
Supporting invoice discounting administration
Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 200
Purchasing Support
Providing holiday cover within the Purchasing team
Raising purchase orders
Responding to supplier and internal email enquiries
Assisting with invoice queries
Monitoring order acknowledgements and supplier delivery updates
Providing general administrative support as required
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience within Accounts, Finance Administration, Sales Ledger or Purchase Ledger
Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
Confident using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Experience using accounting software, ideally Sage 200
A proactive and flexible approach
Excellent organisation and communication skills
AAT qualification or studying towards AAT would be advantageous
