Temp to Perm Opportunity
A specialist engineering and infrastructure business is looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse & Yard Operative to join their busy Chesterfield operation on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is not a standard warehouse role. The position involves working with specialist equipment used across rail, infrastructure, construction and engineering projects throughout the UK.
The role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, doesn’t mind working outdoors and is looking for a long-term opportunity within a specialist industry.
Duties Include:
Picking and preparing equipment for projects
Loading and unloading vehicles and containers
Moving heavy and awkward items safely
Cleaning and organising returned equipment
Supporting warehouse, stores and yard operations
Working with ropes, cables, mesh and specialist kit
Keeping operational areas tidy and organised
Assisting the wider depot and workshop team when required
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
Reliable and punctual
Hands-on and practical
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Able to work at pace when required
Willing to learn specialist equipment and processes
Safety-conscious with a good attitude
Experience That Would Be Useful:
Warehouse or yard work
Stores or stock control
Construction or engineering environments
Forklift work
Loading/unloading experience
Plant hire or industrial experience
A forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
