The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Description
The role requires a confident planner that can take lead responsibility for day-to-day running of projects, supporting clients through the planning system and delivering positive outcomes. They will have a central role in the Planning & Development Team, working closely with more senior members of the team and directly contributing to a diverse range of planning work. Core roles and responsibilities will include:
- Advising and preparing planning applications of all scales for a range of sectors / land uses, including coordination of multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Advising clients on Town Planning strategy and approach
- Leading the preparation of LDP (and wider policy) representations
- Leading the preparation of planning research & reporting (eg. Design Codes, LDP Evidence Base Reporting)
- Client and stakeholder liaison across all projects, including attending meetings (in-person and virtual)
- Representing clients at Pre-Application and wider Stakeholder meetings.
- Coordinating, managing, and attending public consultation events to support planning applications, and overseeing wider consultation requirements.
- Maintaining a sound understanding of evolving policy and legislative environment and advising clients as necessary.Profile
- Bachelors (or Masters) Level Degree in spatial / town planning (or other relevant discipline) and Chartered Membership of the RTPI.
- A track record in the submission and successful determination of major planning applications, working with full range of supporting disciplines / technical specialisms including EIA.
- Sound technical knowledge of the Scottish planning system - including statutory instruments, policy-making, and decision-making processes.
- An enthusiastic approach to professional work and a 'can-do' attitude
