Research Scientist / Senior Research Scientist
We are looking for Research Scientists and Senior Research Scientists to join a growing team focused on behavioural insights, applied research, and qualitative science. These are exciting opportunities for curious, purpose-driven researchers who want to work on meaningful projects that influence policy, practice, and real-world outcomes across areas such as public health, occupational health, sustainability, and environmental research.
This role will suit individuals who enjoy translating robust research into practical action, working across multidisciplinary projects, and engaging with a range of stakeholders. Whether you are an established Research Scientist ready for your next challenge or a Senior Research Scientist looking for broader leadership and delivery responsibility, this position offers the chance to contribute to impactful, research-led work in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver qualitative and mixed-methods research projects from scoping through to insight generation and reporting.
- Conduct thematic, grounded, and applied analysis to produce clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Undertake literature reviews, data synthesis, and interpretation of findings to support project outcomes.
- Apply behavioural science frameworks such as COM-B and the Health Belief Model to inform research design and recommendations.
- Translate research insights into practical outputs that can shape policy, programmes, and real-world decision-making.
- Engage confidently with stakeholders through interviews, workshops, focus groups, and collaborative project delivery.
- Contribute to proposal writing, client delivery, and the development of high-quality research outputs.
- For senior-level candidates, lead projects, provide methodological guidance, mentor colleagues, and represent the team externally.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in qualitative and/or mixed-methods research within applied, consultancy, academic, public health, behavioural science, policy, or related environments.
- Strong capability in thematic analysis, literature reviews, insight development, and synthesising complex information into clear outputs.
- Knowledge of behavioural science and behaviour change theory, with the ability to apply frameworks in practical settings.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience facilitating interviews, workshops, or focus groups.
- For Research Scientist level, a strong foundation in research delivery with the ability to contribute independently across multiple workstreams.
- For Senior Research Scientist level, proven experience leading projects, owning delivery, mentoring others, and contributing to proposals or broader business development activity.
- Backgrounds from adjacent areas such as human factors, occupational psychology, environmental behaviour research, social policy, or evaluation will also be of interest.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a team delivering purposeful, high-impact work with genuine visibility and variety. You will be part of a multidisciplinary environment where academic rigour meets consultancy delivery, and where your work can have a direct influence on policy, practice, and behavioural outcomes. If you are motivated by meaningful research, collaborative problem-solving, and the chance to make a tangible difference, we would love to hear from you.
This role can be remote or hybrid. Offering flexibility for individuals.
