The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client is a global leader in manufacturing capital equipment, specialising in production line equipment. With their current Installation Supervisor moving on to a new role, they need an experienced mechanical engineer to step in. Based in West Lothian, the role involves extensive travel to customer sites.
You will carry out and supervise the mechanical installation of production line equipment at customer sites across Europe and the Middle East, leading the customer's fitters and welders, supervising large equipment lifts, reading site layout drawings and working alongside electrical and commissioning colleagues. You will also support customers by phone and on emergency breakdowns, and prepare method statements, risk assessments and site reports.
What you'll bring:
* Recognised mechanical trade qualifications, or around 10 years' experience in a similar role
* Welding, sheet metal, large equipment move, lifting and slinging experience
* A recognised health and safety qualification
* A good electrical understanding and strong leadership on site
* Willingness to travel extensively and to work unsociable hours when urgent site work demands it
