The Role: Trade Sales – Central Belt Scotland
We are seeking a passionate and driven Trade Sales professional to expand our footprint across central Scotland.
The role will cover the management of existing trade customers, along with discovering and pursuing new sales prospects.
Excellent communications skills will be required to maintain market leading customer service and ensuring the company is competitive.
Flexible working is essential, especially during busy periods (August and December) – some weekend and evening work may be required, along with travel through Scotland and potentially other parts of the UK.
The position requires strategic thinkers who can build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
Job Requirements:
- An excellent working knowledge of alcoholic beverages, with a focus on spirits.
- A thorough understanding of the drinks trade in Scotland – with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in B2B sales.
- An enthusiasm to drive sales and profitability.
- A clear vision regarding the management of a diverse customer portfolio.
- A strong attention to detail, along with good communication and negotiating skills.
- Effectively manage workload and availability.
- Microsoft Office and CRM software skills.
- A clean UK driving licence.
Key Responsibilities:
· Sales & Business Development:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies with the sales team, to meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue targets.
Identify, prospect and secure new accounts across the Scottish on trade
Manage a portfolio of existing accounts, ensuring high levels of service, repeat orders, and brand loyalty
Negotiate terms, pricing and promotional activities to maximise margin and order volume
Conduct regular territory planning to ensure optimal coverage of the Central Scotland market
· Sales Forecasting and Analysis:
Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to forecast sales volumes, identify growth opportunities, and mitigate potential risks.
Collaborate with the marketing team and suppliers to execute local launch campaigns and promotional events
· Compliance and Operational Excellence:
Maintain a high standard of professional conduct and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all trade sales activities.
· Events:
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows and customer meetings (including DDC events) to promote our business.
· Product Knowledge and Brand Advocacy:
Have a thorough understanding of our product range to be able to effectively communicate the benefits, and, where appropriate, assist in customer staff training.
Additional Info, Salary, and Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time post. The salary is dependent on experience.
Our office hours are 9:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required. Flexible working is available.
